Bonnie Bruner

F O U N D E R & P R O D U C E R

Bonnie Bruner is a television producer and storyteller with more than two decades of experience across nonfiction, unscripted and live television. Her work has taken her from major live broadcasts and multiple Olympic Games to documentary and unscripted series for networks including HISTORY and Discovery.

Throughout her career, Bonnie has worked across nearly every stage of production — developing stories, producing in the field, writing, working with archival material and shaping projects through post. Her credits span character-driven series, history and mystery programming, automotive television and large-scale live events, including American Pickers, The Proof Is Out There, Joe Exotic: Before He Was King and the Olympic Games.

She founded Bruner Films to build on that experience while pursuing the kinds of stories that have always drawn her in — stories sparked by compelling characters, unanswered questions and the sense that something interesting lies beneath the surface. At the center of her work is curiosity: the instinct to look closer, ask another question and see where the story leads.

A Family History in Television

The Bruner name has a history in television. Bonnie's grandfather, Wally Bruner, built a career that ranged from reporting for ABC News — including assignments covering the White House and the Vietnam War — to hosting the syndicated revival of What's My Line? He later created and hosted Wally's Workshop, television’s first nationally syndicated home-improvement series,

His tenacity and ability to continually adapt to a changing television industry left a lasting impression on Bonnie. Watching him move between journalism, entertainment, producing and creating projects of his own helped inspire her to take the same entrepreneurial leap decades later — building a company where she could develop stories, create new opportunities and evolve alongside an industry that never stands still.

Bruner Films carries that name — and the spirit of reinvention — into a new generation of storytelling.
